Event Recap

The ingredients were a little different this time.

On September 23, 2026, California Chemical joined the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists at The Legacy Castle in Pequannock Township, New Jersey, for the 2026 Culinary Event. We were proud to support the evening as a sponsor and spend time with the personal care community around cooking stations, shared tables, and good food.

There was plenty to get involved in. Aprons went on, pans came out, and ingredients covered the worktables. Our photos capture the energy of the evening: people cooking side by side, pausing for group pictures, and smiling over a pot on the stove. It was a setting that gave everyone something to do together and a reason to enjoy each other’s company.

The program also connected the culinary theme with the world of personal care. Marta Nina of Sozio was the featured speaker for “The Intersection of Fragrance, Flavor, & Culture.” It was a fitting subject for an event celebrating the ways ingredients and sensory experiences connect with our backgrounds, traditions, and everyday lives.

The evening’s “Battle of the Bites” brought cooking into the mix, with a focus on North American culture and diversity. Alongside the culinary activities, the program included a tasting menu and opportunities to connect with others across the industry. The combination gave the gathering a relaxed, welcoming feel, with the cooking stations at the center of the action.

We brought a little sweetness of our own, too. Our California Chemical “Recipe for Success” giveaway packs paired branded cards with treats, adding a small touch that fit right into the occasion. Seeing those packs laid out beside the welcome area, and our name included on the sponsor screen, made our support feel especially personal. For us, supporting events like this is part of staying involved in the community we work with every day. There’s value in making time to get together, try something different, and get to know the people around us. An apron and a shared cooking station can be a pretty good place to start.

That is the part we want to carry forward: making time for the people behind our industry and showing up for the occasions that bring us together. We’re glad NYSCC created space for that, and grateful we could help support it. Thank you to NYSCC, the organizers, the culinary team, and everyone who helped make the evening possible. We’re proud to have been part of it and look forward to seeing the community again.

Until then, we’ll keep the aprons handy.
